The ACT Ride had many touching and sweet moments, the arrival of the caboose and Rider Zero is one that happens each evening at camp.
Caboose is the final pack of riders, who arrive at camp to the applause of everyone else, followed by a long line of support vehicles, the last of which carries the Rider Zero bike. The whole community turns out to make sure that everyone is home and safe. It is part of what makes the ride a special place– everyone is equally important, no one gets left behind. A success for one, is a success for all.
When’s the last time 300 people cheered for you at the end of the day?
It’s how the world should be, how the world could be.
Rider Zero, a riderless bike, represents all of our friends and family who can’t be on the ride. It is a moment to pause in your day and remember those that are missing.
